For in-season, organic weed control, use an in-crop burner to apply heat and manage weed populations. The burner generates heat that will vaporize water from weed cells and ultimately cause the weeds to die. When using an in-crop burner, the growth portion of the crop, such as corn or soybeans, should be taller than where the flame is directed. We at BigYield.us recommend that growers run an in-crop burner at 4 mph to 5 mph; the in-crop burner will use 4 gallons to 7 gallons of propane per acre.
